Re: Sandals Beach in Tobago?
Hi Hugh
Thanks for posting that. I never thought that I would say this as I despise the Sandals-type of resort, but all I can say is thank heavens! I totally agree with the Hotel & Tourism Association comment mentioned at the end of that linked article - without the airlift and extra promotion that Sandals will provide, Tobago would slip even further into the murky back waters, and then crime would inevitably soar, because what else has the island got? So, as sad as it is on one level, I can only sigh with relief.

I suppose I could get used to vast crowds of all-inclusive visitors . . . as long as they stay inside the Sandals compound for their entire stay.

Re: Sandals Beach in Tobago?
Completely agree with Steve.
Just got back from a quick week, and the island seemed really in the doldrums, hardly any visitors, people complaining that they haven't been paid for weeks and had their hours cut.
I hate things like Sandals, but in regard to Tobago I can't help thinking it will provide a lot of jobs for people and bring some money to the island in general.
